Fluor to Install Gas Compression in Mexico
Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) has awarded ICA Fluor’s joint venture with Empresas ICA a contract to build a gas compression system for the Dos Bocas marine terminal at Paraiso, Tabasco, on the Gulf of Mexico.
Fluor will book its US$54 million share of the contract in the third quarter of 2013. It will provide engineering, procurement, construction and start-up services for the electromechanical works and tie-in of the new system to connect a 48 mile (77 km), 36 in. (91 cm) pipeline to move oil and gas from an offshore platform to processing facilities at the marine terminal.
Work is due to be completed in the second quarter of 2015.
“This project provides ICA Fluor with the opportunity to support Pemex in advancing the key goals set forth in their strategic plan, which includes modernization of their gas transportation system to service increasing demand,” said Juan Carlos Santos Fernandez, director general of ICA Fluor.
