GE, Hanwha Techwin ink compressor package deal
August 9, 2016
GE and Hanwha Techwin, formerly Samsung Techwin, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to produce industrial gas turbines and compressor packages.
According to the agreement, GE will supply Hanwha Techwin, the aviation and defense manufacturing arm of Hanwha Group, with components for energy equipment, such as gas turbine generators and compressors.
The two companies have done business with each other before. In February, Hanwha Techwin signed an agreement with GE in Italy to secure the sales rights on NovaL T5 series gas turbines for small electric generators. The 5.6 MW NovaL T5 series will be released in the second half of the year, according to the company.
