Ingersoll Rand acquires assets of Osterbauer and USE co.
July 20, 2016
Ingersoll Rand (IR), a global leader in compressed air and gas systems and services, has announced it has acquired the assets of Osterbauer Compressor Service, an IR distributor based in Buena Park, California and also of USE Co., Inc. (USE), an Ingersoll Rand distributor based in Santa Fe Springs, California.
Ingersoll Rand first announced in May 2016 that it has acquired the assets of Osterbauer Compressor Service, an Ingersoll Rand distributor based in Buena Park, California.
Osterbauer Compressor Service sells compressed air equipment, parts and services to customers in the greater Los Angeles area, and has approximately 30 employees. Osterbauer Equipment Services has been an Ingersoll Rand Compressed Air Equipment and Accessories Distributor since 1934. Its employees will join the Ingersoll Rand team and continue to provide sales, service, parts and engineering support for compressed air systems from the existing Buena Park location. This location includes a 24,000-square-foot facility with unique rental storage and service, and shop service capabilities.
“The acquisition of the assets of Osterbauer Compressor Service represents our long-term commitment to serving customers in the Southern California market with high-performance compression systems and services that are reliable and efficient,” said Todd Wyman, president of Ingersoll Rand Compression Technologies and Services. “We are delighted to add this customer center to our global network, and thrilled to welcome employees and customers to a new direct relationship with Ingersoll Rand.”
Ingersoll Rand announced one month later (June 2016) the acquisition of Santa Fe Springs based USE. USE, an Ingersoll Rand Compressed Air Equipment and Accessories Distributor since 1923, sells compressed air equipment, parts and services to industrial customers in the greater Los Angeles area. USE was formed in 2013 with the merger of U.S. Equipment Co., Inc. and Arnel Compressor, Inc.
USE has approximately 40 employees who will join the Ingersoll Rand team, as the Ingersoll Rand Santa Fe Springs Customer Center. The Santa Fe Springs Customer Center will be part of the newly formed Ingersoll Rand Los Angeles District, together with the Buena Park Customer Center (recently acquired Osterbauer Equipment Services). The Los Angeles district has approximately 75 employees.
For the first time, Ingersoll Rand will now have a direct customer presence in Los Angeles via an Ingersoll Rand Customer Center.
“We’re really pleased that the Santa Fe Springs Customer Center, our 40th in North America, is formed on the 45th anniversary of our first company-owned customer center, which was in Richmond, Virginia,” continued Wyman. “We welcome these USE employees to the Ingersoll Rand team, and celebrate both events as our firm commitment to serving the compressed air systems and product lifecycle needs of our customers, and being the best place for top talent in the field.”
