Leading compressor and vacuum pump manufacturer Gardner Denver has raised more than £6,000 for Cancer Research UK after hosting a charity golf day with its distributor, supplier and sales network at Warwickshire Golf and Country Club. With an aim of raising £4,000 for the charity, Gardner Denver exceeded this target by more than £2,000, raising £6,072 in total.
With 17 teams taking part in the event, it was Gardner Denver’s distributor Direct Air & Pipework Ltd that went on to claim first place in the tournament.
Colin Mander, Regional Director for Gardner Denver, said: “The event gave us the opportunity to further strengthen our relationships with our key distributor and supplier base, ensuring we could discuss the latest issues and challenges facing the compressed air industry. However, the main aim of the event was to raise money for a very worthy cause and we are thrilled to be able to write a cheque for more than ?6,000 for Cancer Research UK.
“This is an event we hold annually because we believe it is a cause that deserves our whole-hearted support. More than 350,000 new cases of cancer are diagnosed every year , and any money we can help raise to fund research for this important charity is worthwhile.
“Finally, a big congratulations to Direct Air & Pipework Ltd, who scooped the first place prize on the day.”
