Celeroton introduces new turbo compressor
June 22, 2020
Celeroton has launched the CT-NG-2000, a high-speed, electrically driven, gas bearing turbo compressor designed for noble and inert gases. The CT-NG-2000 is the first in the company’s new CT-NG compressor series and is capable of oil-free compression of helium.
The CT-NG-2000 features a maximum flow of 18.5 gps (70 L/s), a maximum pressure ratio of 1.17 and a maximum speed of 240,000 rpm. It can function in single-stage operation or connect to multiple units in a series or in parallel configurations to increase the pressure ratio and mass flow.
The CT-NG platform features a modular design to cover several gases, such as argon, neon, nitrogen and gas mixtures, a function achieved by making aerodynamic and gas bearing adaptions. The CT-NG-2000 does not require rotating seals because the compressor’s sealing concept minimizes contact with the process gas, allowing it to operate with hydrogen, oxygen or reactive and hazardous gases, Celeroton said.
CT-NG series compressors are applicable in process gas applications, additive manufacturing, cryogenic applications and the semiconductor industry.
